02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Compact open living zones gather around a masonry hearth and a broad recessed window, with built-in storage and benches protecting circulation from the steep exterior terrain.
- materials
- Rough local stone, larch and fir, slate, lime plaster, blackened steel, wool, felt, leather, and clear glass balance thermal mass with tactile warmth.
- furniture
- Low timber lounge frames, compact upholstered sofas, slab tables, window benches, and integrated cabinetry favour sturdy profiles and economical placement.
- lighting
- Deep window reveals soften snow glare and overcast mountain light, joined by shaded pendants, small task lamps, and a dark hearth at a low visual level.
- decoration
- A few carved bowls, folded blankets, quiet ceramics, and muted mineral tones defer to grain, texture, weather, and the framed landscape.
