02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Long open living zones extend toward shaded terraces, with few internal partitions and strong visual axes to mountains, gardens, and sky.
- materials
- Terrazzo, board-formed concrete, local stone, steel, glass, walnut, woven fibre, and sun-faded wool balance cool mass with tactile warmth.
- furniture
- Low walnut casework, linear sofas, sling chairs, and broad coffee tables reinforce the architecture’s calm horizontal datum.
- lighting
- Deep roof overhangs temper intense daylight while clerestories, shaded floor lamps, and wall washes carry illumination into the evening.
- decoration
- A few desert plants, hand-thrown vessels, geometric textiles, and restrained ochre or rust accents echo the surrounding terrain.
