02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Repeated family bays occupy a circular covered ring, each with hearth and hammocks opening toward one large communal centre.
- materials
- Timber poles, vines, palm leaves, bark, woven fibre, clay, cotton, and earth create a renewable rainforest settlement.
- furniture
- Hammocks, baskets, low hearths, tools, storage bundles, and simple vessels define each family bay without fixed partitions.
- lighting
- Bright equatorial sky fills the central clearing while deep palm shade protects the inhabited ring and its repeating thresholds.
- decoration
- Basket weave, hammock cords, feather and fibre objects, roof cadence, and ordered tools give each bay quiet identity.
