02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Separate sleeping huts, cooking areas, and an open enramada shade pavilion form a dispersed compound connected by sandy paths and family activity.
- materials
- Yotojoro cactus wood, mud, palm and fibre roofing, woven cotton, rope, gourd, ceramic, and timber create a light desert household.
- furniture
- Hammocks, woven bags, low stools, storage vessels, cooking tools, and portable screens define use beneath the open pavilion and within small huts.
- lighting
- Hard Guajira sun is filtered through the enramada roof, casting patterned shade across brilliant textiles while open sides admit constant dry wind.
- decoration
- Vivid hammock and mochila geometry, braided cords, woven screens, painted vessels, and cactus-wood rhythm concentrate identity in portable craft.
