02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- The raised family floor and hearth overlook a lower animal bay, while a loft and built-in containers hold grain within the compact shared volume.
- materials
- Fieldstone, clay mortar, timber posts, earth, tile, wool, olive wood, woven reed, and painted pottery form a thermally stable mountain house.
- furniture
- Low benches, sleeping mats, stools, grain bins, storage jars, baskets, and hearth equipment fit fixed zones without blocking the central passage.
- lighting
- Narrow Atlas daylight enters through the doorway and small openings, catching painted pottery and warm timber above the darker animal level.
- decoration
- Geometric pottery, woven blankets, carved utensils, smoothed clay surfaces, and the measured timber division bring identity to a working interior.
