02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Formal yet compact rooms align doors, wall panels, rugs, and furniture on a strict grid, allowing isolated decorative fields to interrupt the order with intent.
- materials
- Ebonized oak, pale plaster, mosaic tile, hammered brass, velvet, leather, stained glass, inlay, and gilded linework combine structural restraint with concentrated luxury.
- furniture
- Grid-back chairs, high-sided settees, square tables, built-in cabinets, and geometrically upholstered benches turn repeated line and proportion into a total interior system.
- lighting
- Tall windows, globe lamps, brass pendants, and pierced metal shades cast even pools of light that make mosaic, velvet, and gilt details legible without theatrical glare.
- decoration
- Stylized flowers, square rosettes, linear friezes, abstract mosaics, and small metal objects are bounded within architectural panels instead of layered freely.
