02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Domestic rooms open in sequence onto a sheltered corredor around a planted patio, keeping circulation outdoors while joining household work, rest, and sociability.
- materials
- Guadua bamboo, earth plaster, clay roof tile, painted timber, woven fique, and ceramic floor tile form a light, colourful highland construction.
- furniture
- Rustic tables, timber cabinets, woven-fique chairs, benches, and practical storage line the rooms and corredor without interrupting the continuous passage.
- lighting
- Deep eaves shade strong mountain sun, while white plaster, open doors, and the planted court bounce soft daylight into narrow domestic rooms.
- decoration
- Coral and green joinery, patterned tile, flower pots, woven chair seats, and useful ceramics animate the architecture through repeated household colour.
