02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- Sunken lounges, circular openings, curved partitions, and integrated storage replace rectilinear room edges with a continuous landscape of social and private pods.
- materials
- Moulded fiberglass, acrylic, chrome, vinyl, glossy laminate, shag textile, opal glass, and sprayed plastic celebrate new manufacturing and frictionless surfaces.
- furniture
- Wraparound banquettes, ball chairs, pedestal tables, rounded ottomans, and sculptural lounge forms appear built into the architectural shell or lightly docked within it.
- lighting
- Globe lamps, luminous ceiling coves, chromed pendants, and integrated strips create diffuse futuristic light that reflects across white and metallic surfaces.
- decoration
- Burnt orange, cobalt, graphic circles, technological curiosities, and a few polished objects provide playful focal points without returning to historical ornament.
