02 Field note
How the room is composed
- layout
- A hearth room balances the masonry stove, sleeping platform, work table, and ceremonial icon corner, using wall display and a clear central path to order a dense domestic program.
- materials
- Oak, clay plaster, glazed pottery, linen, wool, painted glass, woven reed, and forged iron combine durable building fabric with generations of visible handwork.
- furniture
- Carved chests, built-in beds, stools, benches, small tables, and open plate shelves carry geometric incision and remain closely fitted to the compact room perimeter.
- lighting
- A modest timber window casts warm side light across whitewashed walls and saturated textiles, while the stove and small lamps support an intimate winter interior.
- decoration
- Reverse-painted icons, embroidered cloths, striped blankets, glazed plates, rugs, and carved beams create a layered but strongly ordered household record of skill and devotion.
